With seventeen universities and over 2,000 students around the world participating in open corporate disclosure research over the last two years, we are excited to announce the launch of the International Case Studies on WikiRate Student Engagement, which showcases some of this innovative work.

The case study report features seven universities in six different countries and their unique approaches to student engagement using the WikiRate research tool.

All seven of the universities profiled in the report took part in the Corporate Contributions to the Global Goals, a research project of WikiRate and Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) that engages future business leaders to collect, analyse and compare company data related to sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In each classroom, the WikiRate platform was embedded into the teaching curriculum in different ways to educate students about sustainability, ethics and corporate social responsibility.

“WikiRate provides the opportunity for students to get a real-life experience with CSR, which helps develop their social awareness, problem-solving and critical thinking skills” ~ Dr Stephanie Perkiss, University of Wollongong

The collective research has resulted in over 40,000 new data points added to the open database and a number of publications developed and in the pipeline.

Read the report to find out how the WikiRate platform was used as a pedagogical tool by professors of the University of Wollongong (Australia), Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland), Universidad EAFIT (Colombia), Royal Holloway (England), Universidad ICESI (Colombia), IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems (Austria) and Ewha Womans University (South Korea).

This joint collaboration has been a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the perspectives of students and educators who work with WikiRate and PRME on researching corporate contributions to the SDGs. If you are a university educator who would like your students to take part in one of our projects, we’d love to hear from you. Email info@wikirate.org to learn more about the project and get connected with our team.

A last note to say how appreciative all of us at WikiRate are for the professors who co-authored this report and their commitment to integrating WikiRate into their classrooms over the years. A special thanks goes out to Dr Bonnie Dean, Dr Stephanie Perkiss and Dr Belinda Gibbons from the University of Wollongong for their stellar efforts in coordinating this publication.

If you have any questions or comments about the report, please email info@wikirate.org.
